Phrag Buster Party

Phragmites, is  an invasive grass that can take over welands and roadsides. It  is a monoculture that can inhibit the growth of other native species, effecting health of native plants and wildlife.   Education and awareness is the first step in understanding more about the effects of this plant and what we can do as citizens.  The Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority has formed an official Phragmites Management Area in their watershed.  Lamb's Pond is a Provincially Significant Wetland, part of CRCA's  watershed jurisdiction.  Lamb's Pond Nature Retreat is excited to work with the conservation authority and bring community together to make a difference.  We all benfit when we work together.
